Geometry & Manufacturability
Tool access, thin walls, pockets, internal corners and difficult-to-machine features.
Upload your CAD model and technical drawing before quotation. HongKe reviews geometry, tolerances, datums, materials and inspection requirements to identify questions that could affect manufacturability, pricing or production.
We focus on the inputs that affect manufacturability, process choice, quotation clarity and the ability to inspect the finished part.
Tool access, thin walls, pockets, internal corners and difficult-to-machine features.
Critical dimensions, conflicts, tolerance stacks and requirements tighter than functional need.
Datum definitions, functional references and relationships between related features.
Material grade, condition, hardness and heat-treatment requirements.
Finishes and secondary operations that may affect routing or final dimensions.
Critical characteristics, measurement notes and required inspection records.
Early questions help prevent assumptions from moving into process planning and quotation.

Can add cost and process risk without improving function.

Can cause setup, inspection and assembly ambiguity.

Can create competing machining and inspection requirements.

Can require a different geometry, tool strategy or process.

Can delay process selection, finishing and quotation.

Can leave critical features without an agreed verification method.

Confirm the primary datum used to locate and inspect this feature.
Confirm whether the specified tolerance is functionally required.
Review the internal radius against cutter access and machining strategy.
Confirm finish, masking and edge requirements before final sizing.
Illustrative example only. Actual feedback depends on the submitted drawing and project requirements.
Focused engineering questions create a clearer basis for quotation.
Geometry or manufacturing risks that need attention.
Questions about dimensions, tolerances, datums or functional intent.
A machining route suited to the submitted part.
Inputs that must be confirmed before pricing.
Feedback scope depends on the submitted drawing and project requirements.

Send CAD files, technical drawings and available project requirements.
We review geometry, tolerances, datums, materials and inspection needs.
We identify questions and confirm requirements with you.
Quotation follows after the required project inputs are confirmed.
Use the current files and requirements available to you. Missing information can be identified during review.
Upload the available 3D CAD model and technical drawing, together with material, quantity, finish and inspection requirements. Accepted files are DWG, DXF, STEP, STP, STL, IGES, IGS, PDF and ZIP, up to 20 MB.
When available, provide both. The 3D model helps communicate geometry, while the 2D drawing identifies critical dimensions, tolerances, datums, finishes and inspection notes that may not be defined in the model.
Yes. HongKe reviews drawing tolerances in relation to geometry, material, feature access, functional intent and the proposed measurement method before quotation requirements are confirmed.
Yes. Drawing review may indicate that CNC milling, CNC turning, 5-axis machining, Wire EDM or a combined route is more suitable for the submitted geometry and requirements.
Confidentiality terms can be discussed before file review and must be confirmed for the specific project. Do not assume an NDA is active until the terms have been agreed by both parties.
HongKe identifies missing or unclear inputs and sends the relevant questions for clarification. Quotation follows after the material, quantity, critical requirements and applicable process information are sufficiently defined.
